Global Education @ Wilkes Community College

We live in a world that is more interconnected than ever before. Technology and travel advancements make it both easier and more necessary to know how to relate to people of many different cultures, ethnicity, and points of view here at home and abroad. Our future requires that we understand how to negotiate these new frontiers. We live in a global age, and the Wilkes Community College Global Education Department exists to provide support to students, faculty, and the community in how to embrace and navigate our world.

We seek to:

  • Understand our community and its interconnection to the world.
  • Understand how culture influences thinking and behavior
  • Understand how to communicate and work with people of other cultures
